Dr. Jon A. Moles and his team pride themselves on providing the highest quality of orthodontic care for patients in Frederick and Urbana, MD. We use the state-of-the-art technology to create the most effective and efficient course of treatment for each individual patient. If you’re looking for a sleek and appealing way to improve your smile, we offer Invisalign clear aligners for both teens and adults.

Benefits Of Invisalign

Invisalign.Unlike traditional braces and other orthodontic appliances, Invisalign is not bonded or cemented to you teeth. The aligners are removable, allowing you to eat, as well as brush and floss without the interference of wires. They can also be temporarily removed for special occasions. However, it’s critical to wear Invisalign as often as possible, to ensure treatment progresses as planned. Other advantages of this popular orthodontic treatment include:

  • A Discreet Look - Invisalign clear aligners are practically invisible, so you can straighten your teeth without many noticing

  • Comfortable Fit - The soft and flexible polyurethane plastic won’t irritate the inside of your mouth.

  • Improved Oral Hygiene - Because you can remove Invisalign before brushing, you’ll be able to clean them much more effectively than you would with wires in the way.

  • Fewer Dietary Restrictions - With braces comes a long list of foods to avoid during treatment. Clear aligners allow you to still enjoy your favorite crunchy and chewy foods.

How Invisalign Works

Invisalign technology has improved dramatically over the years, making it possible to treat numerous malocclusions that once wouldn’t have been possible. Of course, there are still some situations where braces would be the recommended treatment, and Dr. Moles will discuss your different treatment options with you to ensure you achieve desired results. Clear aligners work the same way traditional braces do, applying force to slowly shift teeth into an optimal position.

Our office uses advanced 3D computer graphics to design a personalized course of treatment. You’ll then receive your first set of plastic trays, for your top and bottom set of teeth, which you’ll need to wear for two weeks straight. Try your best to wear them at least 20 hours a day to ensure your treatment moves along. After two weeks, you’ll get your next set of aligners, that will continue to gradually move your teeth until your smile is perfect. In all, your treatment will be broken down into several dozen stages, which is why it’s important to always wear your aligners as advised by your orthodontist.
