Jon A. Moles, D.D.S


Dr. Jon A. Moles earned his D.D.S. degree at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry in 1983. After joining the Navy and providing the dental needs for sailors and Marines around the world for over 10 years, he completed his orthodontic specialty training in 1995. As the Navy Far East Consultant in Orthodontics, he traveled throughout Japan providing treatment and consultations for military service personnel and their families.

In 2001, Dr. Moles accepted the final position of his prestigious Naval career as Chairman of Orthodontics at the Naval Postgraduate Dental School in Bethesda, Maryland. His responsibilities included maintaining an aggressive adult orthodontic-orthognathic surgery practice, the mentoring of over 30 dental specialists annually and lecturing in support of the many continuing education courses provided by the school.

Dr. Moles founded “The Village Orthodontist” in 2001. As the first orthodontist in Urbana, he has dedicated himself to performing top quality orthodontics in a friendly, hometown way.

Dr. Moles is licensed in the State of Maryland and recognized as a specialist in orthodontics. He is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, Mid-Atlantic Society of Orthodontists, Maryland Dental Association, and the Frederick County Dental Society.

Planting roots in the Frederick, Maryland area in 1998, Dr. Moles is a strong supporter of the local community and spends most of his spare time volunteering. He is the president of the Urbana Middle School PTSA, the Secretary of the Frederick County Dental Society, a chief election judge for Frederick County, the field manager with LUYAA, and is a youth basketball coach.

Dr. Moles and his wife, Deb, have been married more than 27 years and have three children. Together, they enjoy the beauty of the outdoors that this area provides. You can always find them cheering for the Urbana High School and other youth sports teams.
